Michael C. Jones (Producer/Director/Author/Playwright) is also a motivational speaker, author of the new book "One Dollar at a Time", national newspaper columnist, former radio talk show host, and current CEO of One Dollar Enterprises.

Michael Jones is a motivational speaker, author of the new book "One Dollar at a Time", Director/Playwright for a new gospel dramatic stage play called "Never Again", newspaper columnist, former radio talk show host in Augusta, Georgia on WKZK AM 1600, "Power to Make a Difference", and College Professor. He is launching a 25 city national book and play tour in 2004 from January to November.

The book is nonfiction and covers economic empowerment within the African American Community. The inspiration for this book came because of my Nonprofit organization, The Minority Leads Club of Atlanta, promoting a 360-day movement in Atlanta, Georgia in 1996. The goal was to raise one million dollars, one dollar per black person and redirect the million to one nonprofit organization. The organization to benefit from the million dollars helped at-risk youth and symbolically represented all of the nonprofit organizations not receiving funds from the black community.

Black America spends between 400 500 billion dollars annually with less than 2 percent remaining in the black community. With the knowledge gained in One Dollar at a Time, Black Americans can begin to economically rebuild their communities and finally begin to act in their own best interest. This book will also illuminate the many past and present psychological ramifications of 400 years of slavery.

Four main aspects of this book set it apart from all of the other books that teach economic empowerment. The first aspect is that it seeks to enlighten the black community of its 400 billion-dollar annual economic strength. The second is that it chronicles the 400-year slavery history in an easy to read year to year journal. The third aspect is a day to day journal of the movement to raise one million dollars in one year. The last aspect is that it promises to define steps to reaching the goal of raising one million dollars in 2005.

The 2004 Book and play tour will be launched at Atlanta, GA in February 2004 and run through November 2, 2004. This highly anticipated, very thought provoking play and book, will visit not only Historically Black College and Universities but also large universities in major urban markets and will not only perform plays, but book signing in bookstores and restaurants.

"Here is a book that will undoubtedly alter the balance of power with regard to race and economics. Dismiss it at your own peril. One Dollar at a Time is right on time!"
