GOSPEL PLAY CONSIDERS MATERIALISM

When a mule breaks family ties

By RICHARD WALKER

T&D Staff Writer

The question, "Where do you hide a furry, four-hooved mule?" is to be answered Saturday during the one-time performance of "Forty Acres, who stole the mule? "a gospel play about materialism.”

Written, Directed, and produced by Michael C. Jones.

"Haves versus have-nots. Hilariously funny!" which features an actor troupe of 10 actors local to the Augusta, Ga., area. A grandmother determined to make good on a 140-year-old government offer of "40 acres and a mule" wins her lawsuit setting off a struggle between the her daughters. Everyone wants a piece of the pie, or. in this case, the government-award mule when one family member finds out that the mule can be sold for $10,000 to a research institute. At the height of the family struggles, a surprise appearance re-introduces the family to the Gospels.
